Students Ready to Serve as Summer Missionaries
Once again this summer, three students have been asked to serve as summer missionaries in the Metrolina Association. We are excited about what God will do in our congregations as these students minister among us for 10 weeks.
Two of the three students return from last summer: Kristin Bean, a member of University Hills Church and a student at Southeastern Seminary, and Eric Brown, a member of Cornerstone Church, and a graduating senior at Gardner-Webb University.
Joining them this year is Rachel Lowman, a member at FBC Charlotte and a sophomore at Appalachian State University. | Kristin Bean | Eric Brown | Rachel Lowman | Last year, our summer missionaries served in 18 of our churches in a variety of ways, from children’s ministry to student ministry to neighborhood outreach.
Now we need to know if your church family is interested in having a summer missionary serve with you. This service would be for one to two weeks during the summer, to assist with ministries like Vacation Bible School, neighborhood outreach, a youth project and more. The association is covering the cost of having these servants among us this summer.
- The dates the summer missionaries will be available to serve in the churches is June 1-August 9.
- They will be in orientation and preparation on May 27-30.
- The students will also be assisting us with two associational missions projects during the summer:
- A resort missions trip for a group of youth from our churches to serve at Kure Beach on June 28-July 5
- and the Missions Prayer Journey on July 21-30
