ENGLISH AS A SECOND LANGUAGE
ESL Workshops Offered by Area Churches


Can you imagine trying to lead a productive life in a country where you cannot speak the language? Many internationals have come to Charlotte speaking minimal, if any English. Now is your chance to impact their lives for Christ! Instructors are available to come to your church to host a workshop to train and certify those interested in teaching the English language to internationals. So, learn how to teach English to internationals and possibly open the doors of communication to share the love of Christ with them.

The 16-hour workshop will include sections on:
  • Why we should get involved with English as a Second Language
  • How to get an ESL ministry started in your church
  • How to determine the fluency level of students
  • Lesson planning (hands-on opportunities as participants)
  • Foundations of language learning (different learning styles)
  • Activities to promote learning in the classroom
  • Using the Bible to teach ESL
  • Resources and curriculum options
  • Sharing your faith with internationals
